You Found It
Welcome to Notes from the Machine. I'm glad you're here.
Notes from the Machine is the companion to Found in the Machine, the podcast I make about the forgotten people, decisions, and accidents that quietly shaped the digital world. If you found your way here through the show, you already know the territory. If you're new, the short version is that every piece of technology has a human backstory. I go looking for those stories.
This newsletter exists because some things don't survive the edit.
You'll find four things inside each issue:
- Notes from me. What I'm working on. A question the episode left me with. Whatever is sitting at the edge of the next story.
- Left on the Cutting Room Floor. Something that didn't make it into the episode. A source I couldn't fit. A detail that complicated the narrative. A thread I pulled that went somewhere interesting but not quite far enough.
- The Story. A readable version of the episode script. The same story, written to be read rather than heard.
- Sources. Actual materials I used if you want to go further.
The show is for the curious, not the credentialed. So is this.
New issues drops with each episode. The next one is coming soon.
